How I spent this glorious winter morning in Devon.
Every morning I get up at the crack of dawn drag the dog out and go sort out the horse.....
And every morning I drive back to some incredible sunrises pissed off that I don't have my camera.
You see its so easy to get mixed up in the busy of running a photography business you forget to do what you love in your own time. TAKE BEAUTIFUL PHOTOGRAPHS.
So this morning I made myself remember it with my Nikon D750 & 50mm. And I was rewarded it was the first reasonable frost this morning and an incredible sunrise. After the usual routine of muck out and turn out Spring me and Esther headed to the woods for a walk.
There is something about a winter morning that fills me with awe. Being up while its still dark and cold then witnessing the day break sets me up for productivity. The fresh air and the peace of the countryside sets my head up to deal with anything.
Haven't you ever just done that? Pulled over the car on the morning commute and taken a moment to appreciate the total beauty of your surroundings. There is beauty everywhere and stopping to be present and let that fill you with joy and a sense of privilege that you are alive and here to appreciate the incredible world we live in. Its the biggest feeling and if you really let it flow it can bring you to tears, when you allow yourself to feel small but open to scale of the universe.
-A feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder.
You owe it to our beautiful world to fill yourself with awe on a regular basis.
