London Micro wedding at Marylebone Town Hall with Tor & Chris.

Marylebone Town Hall wedding

Ahhh where do I even start with these two. They booked me back in the first lockdown for a full sized wedding in London on the 10th October, you know back when we were all naively optimistic that this was going to blow over in a couple of months.

Of course things evolved and it became clear that a large wedding wasn’t going to happen this year so the date was moved the 9th October for a smaller but still fun day with 30 guests.

Then along came September where new restrictions were announced and the government said only 15 guests from the 28th September. I felt so sad for these guys, especially after having to downsize once already. I can’t imagine how rubbish it is to have to cut the people you love out of your day.

Then something magical happened.

Chris rang me and asked if I was available that Sunday 27th September. Somehow against all the odds these guys managed to pull together an entire wedding in 3 days so they could have their 30 guests and it was just perfect.

We started with bridal prep at Tor’s Mum’s home and it was the first time I had photographed prep in a year so I was quite nervous but also so excited to be going back to the work I love in 80% of it’s glory.

Tor had the most stunning dress from Needle & Thread who I am now in love with as a designer.

It was then on to the ceremony at Marylebone Town Hall and the whole time everyone especially Chris & Tor were just grinning and laughing truly showing that love isn’t cancelled. We also had a fair few people included over zoom and it was fun to see them watching the confetti throw via a tripod. 2020 is all about getting creative.

We then did some couple photos around Marylebone and also had to dress the car with some tigers and ribbon as Chris was meant to do it before BUT he was almost late when he drove to Brent by accident before the ceremony, I loved capturing this moment though in a car park. All weddings have their own unique stories.

It was then on to Thames Rowing Club for the reception and some seriously excellent speeches sadly no dancing but as far as weddings go this has been one of my favourites.

Enjoy the photos and here is what Tor & Chris had to say about having me as their wedding photographer:

“These are just STUNNING!!! Thank you so much for sending them through last night and for your fantastic instagram post.

Where do we start!?! We could not have made a better decision to have you as our photographer.

We knew the moment we had our zoom call with you, and you have been with us every step through this crazy journey and it has meant so much to us. It was also so wonderful to meet you in real life yesterday!

Your photos capture exactly what we wanted; the perfect day. We are so so happy today and you played a big part in our wedding yesterday so THANK YOU!!!”
