Wedding photo of the week. Four.

So I almost missed doing this weeks photo of the week! It’s been one of those weeks, with Mum recovering from her operation and me coming down with a terrible flu that saw me in hospital Tuesday night with chest pains and unable to breath properly. Fortunately I am on the right side of it now and ready to get back to work.

So week four is from Emily & Jim’s beautiful outdoor wedding in Surrey back in 2018. I chose this image because for me speeches are one of my most favourite parts of the day (so you can expect lots of speeches photos in photo of the week)

The reason I love the speeches is because it’s the only time in people’s lives where the people who love them stand up and talk about how much they love them to everyone else who loves them. Make sense?

The speeches are turbo charged with emotions and humour and from a wedding photography perspective this is where the good stuff is.

This image summarises that for me. It’s a moment caught between emotion and humour as Emily is listening to her Dad’s speech (which was excellent btw) and you can see how happy and proud he is to be delivering it.

As a wedding photographer this is what I am looking for constantly throughout a wedding, emotion, humour and connection so that my couples can take themselves back to those feelings on their wedding day.
