My little excursion to Camber Sands and a little announcement.

Camber Sands

So last week I realised I hadn't taken a day off in about 8 weeks! When you run a business that's something that happens regularly. My work isn't 9-5 it's my life. Which means sometimes I forget to detach myself and do something for me. So I decided to go to Camber Sands for the afternoon.

I grew up by the sea and I often notice how much I miss it living in London. I love the city but the beach is home for me. It was the perfect day for it as I had Esther's friend Rosco the German Pointer for their weekly playdate so the beach offered them some fun as well.

Camber Sands is huge. I had never been before so I didn't know the scale of it but we wondered by the water for a while and explored the sand dunes. We also saw some horse riders enjoying the freedom of the beach and I was also then reminded that I haven't been enjoying my horses for a while, in fact not for a long time.

My day trip out made me realise that I haven't enjoyed any form of a life outside of my job for a long time, a very long time. Don't get me wrong I live for my work and the people I work for if I didn't love this work I wouldn't put myself through the long hours, long drives, hours at my computer or time missed with my family. I am endlessly passionate about the work I create and the meaning my work brings to the people I work with.

But I have realised that at the rate I have been going I will be putting myself into an early grave. My business should be enhancing my life which it does in so many ways but I also need time to live outside of being a wedding photographer and I also want the room to pursue my other passion of taking portraits of women.

So Rubie Love is evolving. On the 29th April 2018, I will be dropping a new brand, with a new website and a new way of operating. My pricing will be changing and I will be reducing the number of weddings I take on a year exclusively to 20 max.

Whatever you pursue in life it's always a journey and it's always about growing and getting better. After 7 wonderful years of building this beautiful business of mine, I am now ready to evolve into the next stage of my adventure in a way that will also allow me to live as well as work.

I still have a handful of dates for 2018 and current pricing will be on offer until the 29th April so please do feel free to get in touch if you would like to make the most of that!

I can't wait to show you all what is to come!
