So earlier in the year Cass Eyre from Cassandra June Events got in touch with me about a styled shoot. This wasn’t just any styled shoot though, this styled shoot was all about paying respect to the fact that this is the 100yr anniversary of World War One and Cass wanted to create something both beautiful and commemorative of the people who gave up their lives for ours.

How could I possibly say no??

I have a total fascination with both the wars, ever since school I have continued to seek out knowledge of both the politics and horrors of what happened. I have an absolute respect for the survivors, soldiers and people who lived through both. We are oh so very lucky to have it so easy now and it’s because of the bravery of those before us that we do.

And that is why doing this shoot was so important to me.

The highlight of course was George our war veteran who the British Legion put Cass in touch with. A member of the Royal Marines he told us stories of eating monkey on Christmas day and that the reason he joined was because there wasn’t any girls where he grew up. Taking this man’s portrait is and was the highlight of my career.

The whole shoot was put together so perfectly with endless nods to this years 100yr anniversary, from the newspaper we used to the poppies on the cake and stationery Cass did an incredible job of bringing it together so tastefully.

So I am not going to waffle on the photos will do more justice than my words and I hope you enjoy them. Most importantly though I hope you take a moment today to remember those who fought for our lives today.
