This is a big blog post because this was one hell of an epic wedding. When I first chatted with Jen & Killian I knew that I was going to LOVE everything about their East London wedding and I was not wrong. These two and their family & friends bought the fucking energy.

I started the morning at The Stratford Hotel for prep. Jen & Killian got ready separately but in the same hotel so I was able to switch between the two easily to capture moments from both of them pre-wedding. I always think this is a great idea if you don’t want a second photographer but still want to have moments from both sides captured. The Stratford Hotel is relatively new so has a lovely modern feel and lots of great natural light so it’s perfect for capturing all those pre-wedding moments.

It was then off to Hackney Town Hall for the ceremony. I love London town halls and Hackney is up there with one of my favourites. It has so many beautiful spaces to get married in and hold your reception if you fancy it. With it’s gorgeous art deco feel and lovely staff it’s always a total joy to photograph weddings here. Jen & Killian got married in the committee rooms upstairs and the whole ceremony was one big lovely happy event. These two were so keen to get married they got ahead of themselves and kissed before they were told to! I loved it.

Also let’s just talk about Jen’s incredible outfit! I loved the cream denim and pearls teamed up with those statement platforms. Jen completely owned having her own unique style for her wedding. Another thing I love to see rather than thinking you need to be traditionally bridal. Oh and the flowers by Sage Flowers in Peckham were absolutely divine.

Post ceremony we had the biggest confetti throw outside the town hall before grabbing some quick group and couple photos around the town hall. This is another reason I love Hackney Town Hall, it has great spots for photos literally just around the outside of it. And of course Jen & Killian needed so little prompting as they were just so happy.

Then it was everyone on a bus and back to the Stratford Hotel as the wedding reception was being held in the stunning Allegra Restaurant which is in the same building as the hotel. This is an incredible East London restaurant and venue. Beautiful, light and modern you would need to do little to decorate it and it has such a lovely relaxed feel to it. And of course there is the huge rooftop terrace with stunning views. Jen & Killian opted to have their speeches outside and I am all for this!

And we can’t talk about Allegra without talking about their chef Patrick Powell. Fuck me the food is INCREDIBLE. And he was of course given a standing ovation by the guests for providing such outstanding food for so many. So if you are foodie and it’s an important part of your day, that is another reason to have your wedding reception at Allegra.

After dinner it was then back on to the roof terrace for an amazing party. Jen & Killian booked a jazz band who regularly play at Ronnie Scott’s and the energy mixed with that outside summer night feel was just perfect.
