A London wedding at Old Chelsea Town Hall and The Phene.

Wedding photography at Chelsea Town Hall

Leilla & Matthew had the most lovely of London weddings. I am always a massive fan of the more intimate weddings that couples are now opting for and London is my playground when it comes to wedding photography. So this was a great day.

I started at their flat in Battersea where they got ready together which I absolutely love when couples do this. No one needs to follow any tradition if you don’t want to. Leilla wore a very cool dress by Greta Constantine and a hat designed by her friend Martha Lynn Millinery.

Before we left we obviously had to do a mini photo shoot with their cats which went surprisingly well and I love the shot of the four of them I have included in this post. Everyone was very cooperative.

We then headed down to the pier to get the boat down to Battersea Power Station where we had planned to do some couple photos around there and in the park. I love this, getting all the formal photos done before other guests arrive and the ceremony. This means that post ceremony you can just enjoy your wedding and not worry about having to do anymore photo shoots.

After we finished couple photos Matt & Leilla’s immediate family came to meet us to do the group photos with a view of Albert’s Bridge. This is also a great idea, group photos pre-ceremony also mean more time enjoying yourself post ceremony!

As ever The Old Chelsea Town Hall is a delight to work at. Everyone who works there is so lovely and of course you have those iconic steps for your exit. These two opted to not have confetti as they felt it wasn’t them but they did have all their friends waiting for them outside to give a big cheer when they came out.

Then it was off round the corner to The Phene which is iconic in itself being so close to the town hall it’s become a firm favourite for couples getting married there. It has a wide range of spaces that can be hired that suit all sizes of weddings. Leilla & Matt had drinks in the garden and then headed up to the Oakley Room for speeches and food.

And then that is where I left them to enjoy the rest of the evening. Below are a few of my favourite images.
