Wedding photography in Dorset with Anna & Toby's stunning summer wedding.
When planning a mostly outdoor wedding at a family home in Dorset in June I would imagine that you would be desperately hoping for beautiful sunny weather. Sadly, though this is the UK and the weather never plays ball BUT you would not be able to tell from the joy that was Anna & Toby’s wedding that it was raining for most of the day.
I actually love a wet wedding. Somehow the rain always adds to the story in a positive way. Also, the parties are better because no one is outside in the sun and instead they hit the dance floor.
Anna & Toby had the most incredible wedding in Dorset at a family home. A huge and beautiful Marquee by Taddle Farm Tents was put and filled with some incredible flowers by Miranda Fairhurst. The perfect blend of personal touch and making a statement.
The ceremony was held at the local church, St Mary the Virgin in Powerstock and I will be forever grateful for the guests who drove me there because someone blocked my car in! Anna looked insane in her Suzanne Neville dress and Toby super smart in his suit from Gieves & Hawkes. The rain paused long enough for the most epic of confetti throws as they exited the church.
Back at the house the drinks flowed and everyone sheltered in the lounge from the rain which eventually eased off enough for me to do the group & couple photos. It was then time for food and speeches and Victoria Blashford-Snell provided the delicious food.
Then out of nowhere the most beautiful sunset happened. This is actually quite common on those rainy days and the wet from the rain makes everything glow! So we quickly made a dash for one of the top fields for some couple photos in the last of the days magical light before heading back to party with Groove On Up Band.
Everything about this wedding was a joy to capture and I am so grateful that Anna and Toby asked me to capture it.
It was also great to work with Will Warr who did their videography, Spence & Oliver who did hair & makeup and then the gorgeous cake was by Boo to a Goose.
