The London micro wedding that did and didn't happen.
Well hello! It has been a while. Apologies but things have been a little busy with my other business The Woman & The Wolf which has been my saving grace during this pandemic. Things have also been busy with all things wedding photography though and lots of new bookings for micro weddings and big weddings have been coming through and I can’t wait to be back shooting happy days again soon.
Today I am sharing with you the very last wedding or should I say non-wedding I photographed before lockdown 3.0. Camila & Simon had booked me for their micro wedding at Southwark Registry office on the 22nd December but as we all know things went a little sideways the weekend before with Tier 4 announcements.
On the Saturday evening the day before restrictions were coming into play Camila & Simon were cooking dinner when they got a phone call from the registry office asking if they wanted to come and get married that evening as they were going to try and marry as many couples as possible before restrictions came in at midnight because they didn’t know when they would be open again.
And so that’s exactly what Camila & Simon did. Can you imagine? It’s part amazing, part romantic and part so historical. Such an amazing story. Of course though they still wanted some photos so on their original wedding date we had a stroll around London Bridge & Borough Market to capture these images.
And let’s just take a moment to appreciate Camila’s outfit. Its sooooo good.
I am so happy we still managed to do this and capture these important memories.
Of course weddings have only just started again since that night where couples made a mad dash for registry offices to tie the knot and I for one am so happy they are back. I have got some seriously great micro weddings to look forward to before we hopefully go into a full wedding season over the summer.
