Wedding photo of the week. Five.

This week we are rolling all the way back to 2016. I feel a little nervous showing work from that long ago as my editing style wasn’t clearly defined to the style it is now until mid 2017. That being said I have some images I really love that I want to share and the whole point of wedding photo of the week is that I am celebrating my journey over the past 10yrs.

When I first started wedding photography I was booked to photograph a Turkish wedding and from that wedding I wound up photographing a decent amount of them over a few years. I don’t know how many of you have attended or even photographed a Turkish wedding but these are huge, high energy events that are often upwards of 12hrs with over 1000 guests. Being thrown in to Turkish weddings during the early stages of my career is where a lot of my skills on the job was learnt, I also photographed most of them on my own.

I would often leave one of these weddings with my ears ringing, pumped full of adrenaline and with a smile on my face as I would have thrived from the challenge and created images I would be excited about.

Like this one. Cigdem & Hakan’s wedding was so much FUN. It was actually one of the smaller Turkish weddings I photographed and one of the last. The dance floor at a Turkish wedding is always full, no matter what and there is always so much happening and I just loved this moment with Cigdem and all the guys. Plus Cigdems dress was just stunning and I loved her tattoos so this photo just sums up everything I loved about that day.
