Wedding photo of the week. Thirteen.
How is everybody? I won’t lie this week has been a low week for me, I have seen the same for many of my fellow wedding suppliers. We are creative and social people who LOVE our work and industry so it kind of feels like we are all on the same emotional rollercoaster as we try and help our couples as much as possible but also get used to this new way of living for a while.
I have just been reminding myself of two things 1) No feeling is final, this will pass and I will photograph weddings again. 2) All change is uncomfortable and this will make me a better person all round, from my life and business to my photography.
As small businesses, we also want to keep our businesses as visible as possible during this time as that will help massively when we can work again so please please help out your creative friends and like and share their content, it goes a long long way in helping us be found by the right people and it costs you nothing.
So photo of the week! I have chosen this one because it’s fun.
Sangha & Paul had an incredible wedding at Nutfield Priory in Surrey where they bought all their friends and family together from Korea and the UK. It was such a happy day which is why I love this image.
I am primarily a documentary wedding photographer BUT I also enjoy being creative with my couples. The bouquet toss is a heavily debated wedding tradition and people either love it and want to include it or they really hate it. I personally don’t have an opinion on it other than it can be a pain in the backside to photograph.
Sangha wanted to include it as an image with her only bridesmaid and I loved that because it made it a little more special. I spotted these two hedges in the car park of Nutfield Priory just after the group photos and decided that I wanted to use them as back drops for this and shoot the bouquet toss side on rather than from the front (my second photographer captured that angle) I really love how this worked out, the symmetry and straight lines along with the action of the bouquet toss make this image fun to look at.
So there you go! Image of the week is just about fun, because well that’s what weddings are meant to be about. See you next week.
