Wedding photography in Essex with Sophie & Matt's EPIC tipi wedding!

Oh my goodness revisiting this wedding has been so much fun. Sophie and Matt had the most EPIC wedding day last summer in Essex. They gathered their friends and family at Little Tey Barn (sadly now closed) for the best of times.

My favourite thing is couples getting ready together in the same place. Because everyone was staying in the same big house I could just wander around prep capturing moments from both sides. This just makes the storytelling so much better with pretty much zero effort from the couple or their families. Everyone just needs to enjoy themselves.

I also love that Sophie & Matt had done the legal part on a different day so their ceremony could be a true representation of them as a couple. They had a friend conduct their ceremony and the highlight was everyone singing I love Pina Coladas with Sophie & Matt in pineapple glasses. The more personality you inject into your ceremony the better the wedding photography.

The joy didn’t end there. The rest of the day was filled with garden games, hula hoops being the highlight, a giant panda suit and some hilarious speeches. We also had the most beautiful sunset for 20mins of couple photos in the evening! Oh and there was an ice cream van, I fucking love ice cream.

And the party. Oh that party. The dance floor was not empty for a single second and this was a wedding I was happy to stay till the bitter end for especially as Sophie sang right at the end.
