Best of 2022 London Wedding Photography!

2022 was a mammoth year for wedding photographers everywhere as we were still deep in the post covid catch up. Overall, the 18 months since everything properly reopened has been one of the most amazing and challenging times of my entire career. Never have I worked so hard and never have I photographed so many wonderful weddings in such a short space of time.

From the Lake District to my favourite stomping ground London, I have been witness to many celebrations and what I have loved more than anything is how couples now more than ever are doing their days their own way. From micro weddings with just two guests to massive parties, I have seen it all and it has been a JOY.

It has made choosing the images for my best of 2022 incredibly hard and I really wanted to try and keep it under 150 but going over my work from last year it became clear early on that it was going to be more around the 200 mark.

Also, I made a very conscious decision to only choose images that I loved. It can become really tempting to fill a blog post with pretty couple photos at sunset, or the more obvious parts of a wedding day but that Is not what I love about weddings.

After over 12yrs in this work I more and more fall in love with the in between moments, the emotion, the sometimes quiet or hilarious and also the chaos. Wedding days are not perfect as much as social media might have us believe. And nor should they be. Weddings are a coming together of humans who love each other, family dynamics, food and often a big old party. They often don’t run to plan, have mishaps and the weather more often than not doesn’t play ball.

But all of those things are what make them so wonderful. So I wanted to choose images that represent that. The images below are full of imperfections, they are my favourite because they are full of life and make up the fabric of what a wedding day really is. They are the moments that years down the line will matter the most to my couples. I added a splattering of my favourite couple photos but apart from those nothing in the images is posed or preplanned.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
