Best of 2024 wedding photography!
What can I say… over 40 weddings photographed in London & the UK and over 40,000 images delivered to my couples. Somehow I whittled it down to 206 for this blog post so that feels like a massive achievement in itself. This has been a mega year for me in so many ways and I am feeling very grateful on the last day of 2024.
As well as photographing all these incredible weddings, I have also been spending this year studying and training to become a trauma informed somatic therapist and embodied yoga & dance teacher. It’s been a deeply intense and heart opening journey. In many ways it’s also supported my work as a photographer as my skills for compassionate listening, being fully attuned to an environment and tending to my nervous system with more ease has made my couples feel more comfortable and it’s opened up more creativity.
I have to share some deep gratitude for my couples this year. All of you have welcomed me into your days as one of your own. The weddings I have captured this year have felt deeply intentional and present. Less importance being put on the details and more of a focus on having the best possible time with family & friends. I have captured endless beautiful and meaningful moments and I have left every wedding with a full heart. It’s also rained so much and not one of my couples has let that spoil their day, they have embraced it fully.
I have been doing this work for 15yrs now, that feels like such a long time and yet each year passes in a flash. As I honour this milestone in my career my gratitude extends to all the hundreds of couples who have chosen me as their wedding photographer. I do this because of you, because of the love your have for each other and how that then ripples out to all of your friends & family. The images I have chosen for this blog post reflect that, some are epic moments, others are small, they all matter and they all made my belly leap with joy as I captured them. No posed photos, just the moments that really matter.
2025 is going to see me halve how many weddings I photograph as I am now working with people therapeutically. Continuing to photograph weddings means I can make my rates as a therapist financially accessible for people, so to everyone who is booked in already this year, your not only going to get epic wedding photos you are also potentially supporting another human being on their therapy journey. I have a limited amount of availability left.
There are other reasons for wanting to scale back, I want to completely divest from using AI as it’s proving to be catastrophic for our environment and also photographing less weddings makes my business more sustainable on a collective and personal level. After the mad catch up years post pandemic my body needs some space to breath and recover. Less hustle & busy, more slowness, creativity and connection. I feel excited for the year ahead.
I won’t ramble on much longer. You can enjoy my favourites from this magical year either by watching the slideshow or slowly scrolling through. Thank you again and may 2025 be gentle and spacious for you.
