I can’t believe that I photographed this wedding in 2022 and I am only just blogging it now. Firstly, I LOVE the Lake District and when I travelled up for this wedding I camped for a few days in the beautiful Eskdale Valley where I had the joy of wild swimming and walking in the hills. Literally my favourite things to do.

And then before I travelled back down South, Laura & Ryan had the most beautiful and fun day at Eden Barn in Cumbria. This is a really stunning barn wedding venue which has literally everything you need for a magical wedding day. I think there is a real power in being to have everything from prep to your party in one place, while different venues are also fun there is an extra level of being relaxed when you can just be in one place.

Eden Barn has everything you need, lovely staff, a beautiful space to get ready, the barn is gorgeous with it’s stonework, light and tall ceiling. Sam Green Calligraphy did the flowers and greenery which really bought the barn to life. Disney obsessed Laura also looked incredible in her dress from River’s Bridal in Billericay and I loved Ryan’s suit from Beggar’s Run Tailors in London.

There were so many personal touches throughout this wedding, from the really funny and emotional speeches to them having their dog there for the day. Laura & Ryan wanted a documentary approach to their wedding photography but we did of course make some time for couple photos at sunset and Eden Barn has the most beautiful field across the road that is specifically for couple photos. Long grass, stunning views across the hills and some incredible trees plus the industrial style barn makes for lots of creative opportunities.

I loved everything about this Cumbria wedding so I really hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
