A London Pub wedding at The Elgin in Maida Vale.
I love a town hall wedding followed by a party at a pub and that’s why I am so excited to share Imogen & Luke’s gorgeous May wedding at Marylebone Town Hall and then The Elgin Pub in Maida Vale. If you have followed me for a while then you would have seen Marylebone make many appearances on this blog, I have lost count of the amount of weddings I have photographed there and it’s always a joy to go back but today I do want to focus on The Elgin as it’s such a cool pub for that relaxed London wedding feel.
I began the day Hazlitt’s Hotel in London’s West End, as you will see from the photos this hotel is a very cool place to get ready. Imogen & Luke had a two floor apartment which meant they could both get ready in the same place and I could photograph both their preps. They spent the morning getting ready with their wedding party and closest friends and it was filled with lots of excitement and beautiful moments.
We all then hopped in a cab to the Town Hall where they had their ceremony in The Westminster room with it’s gorgeous panelled walls this room is a favourite of mine. Can we also take a moment for the outfits! I absolutely loved Imogen’s wedding dress from Along Came Eve Bridal and Luke’s bespoke green suit from Norton & Townsend.
After the ceremony we of course had confetti on the steps and a few moments for some couple & group photos before we all piled on a vintage London bus and made our way to The Elgin Pub.
This isn’t my first visit to this cute pub in Maida Vale. The private room upstairs is gorgeous with big windows, exposed brick walls and wooden floors. It’s both beautiful and relaxed. The staff are also so lovely and the FOOD is epic. I love seeing sharing plates more and more at weddings. It really adds a more social vibe and makes for nice photo opportunities as guests share food with each other.
I also love the immediate area around The Elgin, so many cool spots for couple photos in the evening light. We explored a cute mews street with a pink garage door, the tube station and the very Wes Anderson fruit & veg shop. All within a 2min walk. You can’t get better than that.
The whole afternoon was filled with beautiful food, great speeches, joy and love. And then we had a pretty epic party with the talented Ebonie G from Blackbird Entertainment.
I loved photographing this wedding and below are some of my favourite images from the day, it was very hard to choose and not include more. I hope you enjoy them.
Also a shout out to Botanique Workshop in Exmouth Market for the stunning flowers.
