An epic London wedding with Abby & Charlie at St Bride Foundation & Balfour St Barts.

Oh Abby & Charlie. This wedding completely stole my heart last year. As far as London weddings go this one had it all. An international couple gathering everyone they love in one from all over the world for one hell of a party. Plus Queer weddings always have a special place for me as it’s my community.

I started the day with Abby for prep at the Apex Temple Court Hotel. It was delightful chaos with a lot of people in one room and the brilliant Helen Lancaster doing hair & makeup. Abby got her beautifully simple dress from Heart a Flutter Bridal Studio and looked incredible. Once the chaos of prep was over me and her walked over to St Paul’s for a first look with Charlie who also looked just amazing in her House of Ollichon jumpsuit.

We then walked around this iconic part of London taking some couple photos around St Paul’s and the river before we found ourselves at the St Bride Foundation where we met their huge wedding party for some group photos. And then we had the best ceremony with Abby’s brother as celebrant. I love it when people do this because it is so much more personal and fun. This ceremony consisted of lots of loving touches as well as some really funny moments.

After the ceremony we all piled outside for a storm of colourful confetti before jumping on a bus to Balfour St Barts, we had the added bonus of driving past the annual naked bike ride.

I have photographed several weddings at Balfour before and it’s a great Clerkenwell venue that has a great industrial vibe. The food is great and so are the staff, you also have the added bonus of some great photo locations right on the doorstep around Smithfield Market. Me, Abby & Charlie made the most of this at sunset and got some stunning couple photos.

Everything about this day was so joyful and so much fun. From epic speeches to a seriously iconic party this wedding was a perfect example of humans gathering together to celebrate love and it’s always such a privilege to capture this. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I loved capturing them.
