A Marylebone Town Hall wedding with a twist.

I love it when couples truly make their wedding days their own. I feel like the pandemic has really given permission to people to not feel like they have to stick to the traditional formats of a wedding. Dan & Sumi definitely made their wedding day their own.

This was a Marylebone Town Hall wedding with a twist. First of all it was smaller affair with a wonderful pre-wedding adventure. Dan & Sumi really wanted to spend a good chunk of time going around London visiting places that meant something to them. We started at their home in Canary Wharf which they had literally just moved into and was in the process of refurbishing. I got there in time to capture some last moments of prep before we headed to the river.

Now every great adventure needs a full stomach so our first stop was Dim Sum from Royal China before catching the boat to Embankment. I loved this. Capturing these small moments that tell a story rather than your typical couple photos. From Embankment we made our way to China Town, capturing images as we strolled through a sunny London.

All this walking was thirsty work so of course we stopped for a drink and shot before we hopped on the underground to Baker Street. I have always wanted to do some wedding photos on the underground, it’s such an iconic part of London and there are so many opportunities to be creative and tell stories. Once we got to Baker Street we grabbed a couple of photos at the bus stop that was where they met on their first date before heading over to the Holmes Hotel to meet their guests.

After some champagne it was just a short walk over to the Town Hall for the main event. As ever Marylebone Town Hall delivered on a lovely ceremony and we enjoyed confetti and group photos on the steps after BUT one of my favourite moments was Dan & Sumi congratulating the other couples they saw as we left to go back to the hotel for more drinks.

This really was a wonderful little wedding where together, me and my couple created some meaningful images that really tell a story not only about their wedding but who they are as a couple.
