Town Hall Hotel, Bethnal Green wedding photography with Eleanor & Tom

First of all I want to talk about how The Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green is one of my favourite London wedding venues. It’s such a stylish and beautiful space from it’s gorgeous wood panelling and light to the individually designed rooms. Not to mention the food is amazing. Basically it’s the perfect place for a London wedding so I was absolutely delighted when Eleanor & Tom booked me for their New Year’s Eve wedding.

I also want to touch on how much of a great date New Year’s Eve is for a wedding. Pretty much everyone is off work and available and the night is already about celebration so why not make it about you as a couple and your families. Plus it will be impossible to forget your wedding anniversary.

Anyway back to Eleanor & Tom! These two were living in Hong Kong at the time so this was so much more than just a wedding, because of Covid they hadn’t seen some of their friends & family in such a long time so this day was so important to them. I was very happy to capture it for them.

Started with prep which was busy and fun with Eleanor’s friends and family. I love the rooms at the Town Hall Hotel, they are perfect for capturing prep, even with the chaos. Eleanor also looked amazing in her 2 piece from Halfpenny London, who are definitely one of my favourite bridal designers as they are so modern and inclusive.

The council chamber in the Hotel was where the ceremony was held and Bunch London did an absolutely stunning job with the flowers. Eleanor & Tom also had a celebrant led ceremony (I can’t find the details of the lovely lady who did the ceremony) and I am a massive fan of having a humanist or celebrant led ceremony.

it’s so much more personal, modern and inclusive. A celebrant will work to get to know you and build a ceremony with you that actually means something to you both as a couple. And that’s why this ceremony was so wonderful. Afterwards we all piled outside for confetti and group photos before taking 20mins for some couple photos.

The best thing happened while we were doing these. We were taking some photos outside the Love Shack bar near Cambridge Heath Station when the owner came out to congratulate them and offer them a shot of something :) so we all had a shot and I love that I could capture this for them.

After that it was on to drinks, speeches, food and dancing. The whole day was filled with so much fun and love. These guys also know how to party hard so I wasn’t short on some great dance floor moments.
