Wedding photo of the week. Ten.

So today’s wedding photo of the week coincides with International Women’s Day so that is why I have chosen this image! I was going to choose one of my favourite bridesmaids group photos but decided that this one has so much more meaning to it.

Akhand Saubhagyavati is a part of a Hindu wedding ceremony where married women come up and bless the bride and whisper advice in her right ear. Out of the entire ceremony at Lucy Arj’s wedding at Loft Studio’s this part was my favourite. I could see how emotional Lucy got as women from her friends and family came up and supported her in this transition into married life.

It’s these relationships we have as women that I love and I love how much of it I see represented at the weddings I photograph from bridal prep in the morning to having help going to the loo because the dress while beautiful is just ridiculous.

I am constantly witness to women supporting and loving one another and I am so happy I get to capture moments like this one.
