A beautiful Autumnal engagement shoot at Sheffield Park with Emma & Mike.

We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone who’s weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness and call it love, true love - Robert Fulghum

I found the above quote this week and have decided that it’s the perfect description of this thing called love. I have always believed that the right person is someone who you can feel entirely yourself around and that together you both love each others quirks.

The more couples I work with the more I get to see this and the more it inspires my work. I love the way people love each other and I always want my couples to be authentically themselves for their photos so it celebrates their little world of weirdness.

That is why it is always nice when I get to do an engagement shoot with one of my couples. We all get to know each other a little better.

Emma & Mike’s engagement shoot at Sheffield Park in East Sussex was an Autumnal delight and it was made all the better because of how much these two clearly adore one another. We spent a couple of hours wandering the gardens and being creative together as I always believe that the images I create are a collaboration between me and my couples.

I did feel a little nervous beforehand though as Mike is also wedding photographer and while I feel it’s the ultimate form of flattery it’s also a little intimidating, but in a good way!

I am so excited about Emma & Mike’s wedding next year. It’s going to be at the stunning Wadhurst Castle and it will be an Autumnal wedding so there will be all those beautiful warm colours I love so much.
