East London Wedding Venue, Motel Studios

Motel Studios is a perfect venue if you want your wedding to have an industrial vibe. It’s right in the middle of Shoreditch in East London and consist of two arches under the railway line. You have the most gorgeous brickwork and it’s located on this quiet road which is a dead end, so while you are in the centre of Shoreditch, it’s actually pretty relaxed with plenty of outdoor space for confetti & photos.

For Lois & Jamie I began my day at 100 Shoreditch which is a gorgeous hotel nearby and a perfect place to get ready if you are getting married in East London. Lois had her prep here and the room had lots of light and the bustling Kingsland Road below, so great for photos. Lois looked incredible in her wedding dress from Love Spell Design, I loved the modern cut and detail.

It was just a short journey round the corner to Motel Studios for their ceremony. I arrived a little earlier so I could capture some details and guests arrival. I also loved that they opted for a celebrant led ceremony. More and more couples are choosing this as it’s so much more personal and the talented Roxy Celebrates Love led this emotional, funny & personal ceremony which was a joy to capture.

Afterwards we had the biggest confetti throw with some slightly alarming cannons (see photos) and then everyone got down to the serious business of celebrating. There are two huge spaces at Motel so lots of space for everyone and for the day to flow with ease. I also really loved the flowers from Wrapped Flowers who specialises in dried flowers for weddings.

As the light started to shift we headed out for a little walk around Shoreditch for some couple photos. The light in the city is always fun to work with, so many shadows and textures but also we had the chaotic fun of East London and it’s graffiti.

The rest of the day was filled with some brilliant & personal speeches, it IS really so clear how much L&J love each other but also how much they love their friends & family and vice versa. Just a big love fest that was a lot of joy to capture so I hope you enjoy the photos.
