Couple photo shoot in London with Andy & Scarlett.

London couple shoot photographer

I love doing couple photo shoots in London. It’s such a beautiful city that acts as a stunning backdrop for images in all weathers. I love the image above at London Bridge with Andy & Scarlett taking a pause at sunset with the movement of the city around them.

I had photographed these two previously for a family shoot with their two children. Andy contacted me again because him and Scarlett wanted to celebrate their 15yrs of marriage with a couple shoot in the city they now call home. I love this. So often couples only have professional imagery when they are getting married in the form of an engagement shoot but being photographed together shouldn’t just be limited to when you get married.

Also, some couples even though they are life partners often don’t feel like marriage is for them which means they might miss out on the opportunity to be captured creatively and timelessly by a professional photographer. There is never a right time to do this.

We all know how short life can be and phone selfies are great but this is art.

For this couple shoot we went to some of my favourite spots in London during the golden hour period. Starting at the Barbican, famous for it’s brutalist architecture and gorgeous light. It’s an iconic London space and I always enjoy photographing in this area because there is so much room for creativity.

Andy & Scarlett have a beautiful easy way of being around each other so I picked locations and gave gentle prompts to allow them to be authentically themselves. That’s always my approach, no cheesy posing and lots of movement.

We then headed down to Bank where the light was magic and I got one of my favourite images of them crossing the road, backlit by the evening sun and London moving around them.

We finished up on the terrace by London bridge, one of my favourite spots at sunset for it’s stunning views across the Thames. Everything was perfect and I loved what we created. Below are some of my favourite images from this session and I hope you enjoy them.
