The Zetter Townhouse, Clerkenwell. An intimate London wedding venue.
I love the Zetter Townhouse in Clerkenwell. It’s one of my favourite venues for intimate weddings in London. I have been there several times now, it’s also somewhere that’s really great for prep in the morning. This unassuming building a short walk from Farringdon station is filled with huge amounts of unique character and it was wonderful to be able to go back for Chloe & David’s wedding.
I began the day by meeting everyone outside Islington Town Hall (my second home) where C&D were going to have their ceremony in the beautiful Council Chamber. Arrivals were so lovely, with David & friends over in the Vineyard Pub and Chloe nervously waiting in one of the rooms at the Town Hall. Chloe also looked amazing in her fairytale style wedding dress complete with cape! And I loved David’s green suit.
The ceremony was so lovely and it was so clear how much these two love one another but also how supported they are by their family & friends. This is why I love weddings, it’s never about the ‘wedding’ for me, it’s about the people.
After the ceremony we exited the Town Hall with both bubbles and confetti before everyone jumping on to a single decker bus for the short journey to The Zetter Townhouse. Everyone spent a couple of hours outside and in the lounge area enjoying champagne and canapés while the kids all played pretty relentlessly with the bubble machines.
The Games Room is downstairs at the Zetter Townhouse and is licensed for up to 50 guests, you can have your wedding ceremony here as well as your reception. The decor is cosy & eccentric, Chloe & David went even bigger with sooooo many flowers. Just because you are having a small wedding, that does not mean you can’t be epic and The Games Room looked stunning.
The afternoon was filled with many many speeches. And the women dominated with speeches from both Mum’s, the Best Woman, David’s Brother & Sister and Chloe’s Sister. I love speeches and these were all wonderful, emotional and funny! We also had some singing.
It was a joy to photograph this wedding and it’s also been a joy to go through the images again for this blog post. I hope you enjoy them.
