Wadhurst Castle wedding with Emma & Mike
We are in that awkward stage between Christmas and New Year where we don’t what day it is. My 2022 isn’t over yet though with one more wedding to photograph on New Year’s Eve but I am doing my best to relax and make the most of this time after what has been such an intense time of work.
I also want to use this time to finish blogging 2021 weddings. It’s so close to them all being shared so I might just aim to get one out a day before 2023 starts! Always one for unrealistic goals. Then I can focus my attention on putting together my best of 2022 post.
So with that in mind I am very excited to share Emma & Mike. These two booked me all the way back in 2018 for their intimate wedding and I had the joy of doing an engagement shoot for them as well at Sheffield park.
The main event though was a small day at Wadhurst Castle in East Sussex. This stunning venue is ideal if you want a more intimate day but with all the beauty of a countryside venue. Their conservatory and dining room are both so stunning along with their grounds and Emma & Mike filled it with their 30 guests perfectly.
The grounds are also beautiful with great views across the Sussex countryside and I loved that they had garden games for everyone because it makes such a difference to wedding photography when you give guests fun things to do.
After all the formalities at Wadhurst, Emma & Mike hosted an evening reception at The Bell in Ticehurst where they had more friends and family join them. I really like this way of doing things. Especially if you want to maximise your time with those closest to you but still have a great party later.
I loved working with these two and it was such an honour with them choosing me, especially as Mike is a very talented photographer himself. The below images are just a few of my favourites.
